Discover Pogoria IV Lake!

Pogoria IV Lake, also known as Ku藕nica War臋偶y艅ska, is one of the largest water reservoirs in southern Poland. It is part of a complex of four Pogoria lakes, which are popular spots for relaxation in the D膮browa G贸rnicza region. The reservoir was created by flooding the 'Ku藕nica War臋偶y艅ska S.A.' sand mine (hence its name). Together with the nearby Pogoria III reservoir, it is a great place for recreation:

  • The advantage of Pogoria IV is an asphalt path stretching for 8 kilometers along the southern and western shores
  • The bike path connects with the bike paths of the neighboring Pogoria III reservoir, offering many kilometers of safe infrastructure for biking, rollerblading, or walking with a stroller
  • The path is suitable for bikes with trailers
  • There is no swimming area at Pogoria IV (you can find a swimming area at the neighboring Pogoria III reservoir)
  • The asphalt path along Pogoria IV is very sunny (you can find shaded paths at Pogoria III)

Pogoria IV is the youngest reservoir in the Pogoria complex

It was created nearly 20 years ago, in 2005, for retention and flood control purposes. Pogoria IV is the largest reservoir in the entire Pogoria complex. The lake is 8 km long and 3 km wide. This artificial lake is a paradise for anglers. You can also sail here. Swimming and sunbathing are not officially allowed, but in the northern part of the reservoir, you can find wild, sandy shores.

Bike Trail Around Pogoria IV

On the bike trail maps in D膮browa G贸rnicza, the bike path surrounds the entire Pogoria IV reservoir - however, it is worth noting that the comfortable asphalt road for pedestrians and bikes is only along the western and southern shores of the reservoir. You can circle the lake - but on foot or with a mountain bike, and you need to be prepared for some less pleasant sections.

The downsides of this section include parts along the road and numerous sandy sections in the forest - not really suitable for the average cyclist. Additionally, the signage was sometimes not the best, which can make orientation difficult.
