Red Trail from Nowa Wieś to Cergowa - The Easiest Way to the Peak
Since the northern slopes of Cergowa are the steepest and hardest to access, the easiest way to the peak is from the south, which is the red trail from Nowa Wieś.
The red trail (which is part of the longest Polish mountain trail, the Main Beskid Trail) crosses the provincial road and the Jasiołka River in Nowa Wieś, near the PKS bus stop. You can leave your car in a bay by the side road, already on the eastern bank of the river.
We pass between buildings and start climbing through the forest. Fortunately, the path is wide and comfortable. In less than an hour from entering the trail, we reach a side peak of the Cergowa massif called Wierzchowiny, and from there the climb will be much calmer.
We walk through the forest all the time, in the shade, without any scenic windows, which of course does not mean that the forest itself cannot be beautiful! After all, there are two nature reserves on the slopes of Cergowa: We pass the Cisy Nature Reserve in Nowa Wieś without entering its area, while we reach the borders of the Millennium Reserve on Cergowa Mountain by reaching the peak.
