A small park by the Vistula River in Podgórze, near the Retmański Bridge. You can rest here in the shade if the sunny river boulevards tire you out.
Shaded Playground by the Vistula River
In the park, there are two small, fenced sports fields: one for soccer and one for basketball, as well as a new playground. You can enter the belly of a giant fish here:

...but you can also "sail" a ship, play with water and sand, and swing on swings:

Nowacki Park - Practical Information
- You can get down from the boulevards using high stairs, but you can avoid them by walking a bit further to J. Długosza Street.
- There is a portable toilet (toi-toi) near the playground.
Nowacki Park - Fun Facts
Nowacki Park is the oldest park in Podgórze - it's about 150 years old! It used to have a Royal Pond and later a willow plantation. Next to the park is the mouth of the Wilga River into the Vistula River and the Retmański Bridge. A "Retman" is an old raftsman who steered the raft carrying various goods on the river.
...and the giant fish at the playground is a GRAYLING - a freshwater fish that is actually only 30-40 cm long. It eats insect larvae, mollusks, and invertebrates, not children. Interestingly, right after being taken out of the water, it smells like... thyme! Thanks to an attentive reader for this tip!
